Australian Ericifolia (Melaleuca ericifolia) is native to Tasmania and has a pleasantly woody, Australian bush scent with fresh sweet floral-herbaceous back notes. This oil is the perfect option for those who want to combine the scent of tea tree with the calming and soothing nature associated with lavender, all while maintaining the appreciated aroma subtleness of both products. Being a member of the Melaleuca genus, similar to its tea tree cousin, Southern Rosalina carries a mild cineole aroma but, due to its linalool content, is matched with a refreshing lavender back note giving way to its other common name “Lavender Tea Tree”. The composition of this Tasmanian (Southern) oil varies from the traditional Rosalina found in mainland Australia as it has a generally lower linalool content. Tasmanian Melaleuca ericifolia, also known as “Australian Ericifolia Oil”, is harvested from wild crafted populations grown on Flinders Island, part of the Tasmanian archipelago of islands. This adaptive native grows between 3 – 8 metres around the coastal areas and hilly slopes of this pristine island, on low level to high salinity soils. Select populations and regrowth areas are harvested to ensure oil consistency and sustainability.
